Gateway to Another Land 2.  14″ x 18″ (360 x 460mm) oil on canvas.

Gateway was painted as series of 3 paintings, taken from scenes at Scotney Castle in Lamberhurst, Kent, exploring doorways to other lands.  Since reading The Secret Garden as a child I have always been fascinated by the concept of doorways that lead to magical places.  Scotney Castle feeds that imagination and gives inspiration from the old buildings and the nature that surrounds them.
